主要研究方向为人工关节置换术后无菌性松动的防治和关节软骨损伤的早期诊断和修复。获国家自然科学基金等课题9项，省部级科技进步奖14项，其中二等奖6项，获国家专利6项，主译或参与编写专著6部，以第一和通讯作者发表论文300余篇，其中SCI论文55篇，总影响因子149.386，最高影响因子11.753。至今已培养31名博士生，114名研究生。
